Local and international NFT artists collaborated to create this project

This Monday the inauguration of the first exhibition of NFTs took place in the city of Sharjah, located in the United Arab Emirates.

The exhibition, called ‘Gateway to the Metaverse’ was organized by Global Art Education (GAE) and Morrow Collective with the purpose of providing a space for the exchange of ideas and culture, characteristic of the House of Wisdom.

For that reason, 60 artists from different countries and 15 NFT artists from Arab Emigrants were invited to participate.

Italian Stefano Favaretto, NFT artist and co-founder of GAE, said, “to us, Sharjah is a place of opportunities, a place that is deeply rooted with cultures and art, a place where many diverse voices are heard, and knowledge is exchanged. This collaboration exemplifies the very similar values that we share, of supporting and promoting art and artists in a modern and contemporary way.”

The works of these 60 different artists are represented in 2 rounds, during each round their different NFTs are transmitted through 24 screens.

According to Gulf News, the organizers want to show the variety of NFTs that exist; landscapes, abstract figures, virtual reality and even artificial intelligence NFTs are shown in the exhibition.

Amira Bin Faris, the programs manager at House of Wisdom, said that “the diverse group of international and local artists across blockchains to showcase an inclusive collection of digital art, crypto art, and traditional art, our aim is to bridge the gap between the metaverse and the real world and open a gateway on the ground to virtual exhibitions while also introducing traditional artists, collectors, and visitors to the metaverse.”

‘Gateway to the Metaverse’, will be in the House of Wisdom until April 15 and it will try to introduce NFTs to new audiences and open up exchange and collaboration between edges from different countries.
