Prada launches Timecapsule NFT Collection

The luxury brands arrives into the web 3 on June 2 with an NFT Collection and a new platform

Prada, one of the most famous luxury brand in the world, announced on 30 may two new projects related to Non-fungible-tokens (NFT). A few hours ago, the company posted via twitter the releases of one of the most expected events, the Prada Timecapsules.

The Prada Timecapsule NFT Collection marks an evolution of the brand’s preexisting initiative established in December 2019. The monthly, online event, takes place on the first Thursday of every month, where features an exclusive and ultra limited edition item drop on Prada’s website, available for 24 hours only.

This edition will be different from the previous. According to the brand, each Timecapsule drop will be linked to both a gender-neutral physical product and a gifted NFT, a GIF of the capsule video which represents the digital version of the physical item.

The collection was created in collaboration with Cassius Hirst, an artist who had previously collaborated with the company for the launch of the ‘Cass x Prada’, A collection of spray-painted sneakers in a limited edition range of special pieces, each pair totally unique with labels featuring the artist’s distinct signature.

This time, the artist and the brand created a collection of shirts, available in both black and white and decorated with Cassius Hirst signature mask and brain scan designs for Prada Timecapsule drop #30.

Prada has also announced the launch of Prada Crypted, the NFT platform on Prada.com and the brand’s new community server on Discord, a ‘place to exchange ideas and get inspired while connecting the fashion universe with the worlds of art, architecture, film, music, Web3 and more’. Details about the new platform have yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be the start of several releases to come.
