The world of cryptocurrencies is constantly advancing, terms such as NFT or metaverse are gaining everyone’s attention and now a new gaming room that will work with this technology has been announced.

The crypto phenomenon is penetrating more strongly in Latin American countries. Argentina and Venezuela are two of the biggest examples of how people are looking to adopt more of these types of digital currencies to protect themselves from economies in crisis.

However, the case of El Salvador is undoubtedly the one that stands out the most. In the middle of last year, the government of this country, led by Nayib Bukele, decided to establish the Bitcoin (BTC) as legal tender and although it has unleashed a big controversy, plans continue to advance now with news related to gambling.

The director of International Affairs in Technology and Economy of El Salvador, Monica Taher, recently made a publication in social networks announcing the official entry into the metaverse with the launch of the first virtual casino.

The casino, which will be called Astro Casino, will feature slot machines, various table games as well as weekly poker tournaments. The initiative will start in the virtual world but is also expected to have a physical location in an undisclosed location.

There will also be three collections of NFT (non-fungible tokens) called Astro Babies that can be bought, sold and auctioned on the Solana blockchain. All information is available on the official website.
