Fan tokens of your favorite team could be capitalized for 54 million dollars

Soccer teams try to venture into digital assets to increase their income.

Since the pandemic, new ways of living and experiencing football have spread, leading fans to seek other alternatives for participation.  In this way, the issuance of tokens by many top-level clubs borned.

 Fan Tokens are digital assets that can be exchanged through blockchain technology, with them fans can access certain benefits offered by the clubs, in addition they can influence team management through surveys published on the platform.

 For example, with the tokens of the Atlético de Madrid team, fans can participate in choosing a message for the club’s scarf, just as they could participate in the survey to select the design of the club’s mask that would be put up for sale in official stores.

In the same way they can obtain discounts, offers, promotions and priority access to the purchase of tickets for the matches.

The fan tokens offer a limited edition edition (new ones cannot be issued indefinitely), have an economic value, users can buy or sell them and that price can fluctuate based on supply and demand, like a stock market share.

 CAPITALIZATION OF FANS TOKENS

Maybe, the most striking case is that of the Paris Saint Germain team, the capitalization of its tokens exceeds 54 million dollars and they have a daily volume of almost $19 million according to data from Crypto Slam, well above other teams such as Manchester City, whose capitalization exceeds 35 million dollars or the Futbol Club Barcelona, that is around 31 million dollars at the date of this investigation, and are in the first three places of the most valued tokens.

 In fourth and fifth place respectively are the clubs AC Milan and Club Deportivo Galatazaray, the first of them with a valuation of 13 million dollars and the second around 12 million.

 However, not all fan tokens have increased their value in the same way.  For example, the Futbol Club Fortuna Sittard, a Dutch soccer team, has a Capitalization of around 141 thousand dollars, far below the aforementioned teams, but not a low price.

 HOW TO GET FAN TOKENS

 Most of the fan tokens have been developed by SOCIOS.COM, the main partner of the Spanish League.  For this, the creators of the platform developed a Mobile Application, which is the easiest way to acquire the fan token of your favorite team. To use the app people only need their phone number, create the user and an email.

 According to Alexandre Dreyfus, director of Socios.com, each of these assets could be worth $10,000 in a few years, but today, most fan tokens have an average individual price that can start from $5.

 However, it is important to say that prices may vary depending on the performance of the team over the course of the season, or the contracts that the team can sign.  For example, Barça had a good trajectory during the first months of 2022. The value of its fan token increased significantly, going from 7 dollars in January to over 50 in March.

In the case of Paris Saint Germain, this team released the fan token with the season over, with the transfer market and after the announcement of the possible signing of Leo Messi.  The value shot up from the same moment, going from 22 dollars to the maximum stop of 60$.

 Whether for strategic strength or marketing, most teams could look to get into these digital assets.  For fans this could be a form of investment, however, since its price will depend on the team’s performance in competitions and the contracts it can make, the risk involved is also very high. 

For now, the future prospects are not clear, however they are on the lookout for these Cryptocurrencies that seem to have a good prognosis in the soccer industry.
