Bored Ape NFTs are coming to the big screen with Coinbase’s «Degen Trilogy.»

The Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange opens a business path in the film industry, hand in hand with the NFT community of the Bored Ape. The American crypto exchange is preparing a film production called «The Dengen Trilogy», where Bored Ape’s NFTs and their community of users will be the protagonists. Owners of Bored Ape NFTs will have the opportunity to build, alongside Coinbase, as they will be able to contribute ideas on the development of the films.

According to the “Blockchain Observatory” published on its official website, “The Dengen Trilogy” will be a series of three-part interactive movies set in Midtown Manhattan, a New York neighborhood that will be shown in a “chaotic” way in the movies. As indicated by the Bored Ape company to The Block, the objective is to reflect how the legacy system collapses, giving way to a digital economy and a new generation of virtual goods and services.

With this new project, the cryptocurrency exchange claims to be unlocking the true value and utility of NFT tokens, as well as furthering Web3’s spirit of integration, collaboration, and transparency. Coinbase is the second largest exchange in the crypto industry, with a daily trading volume of $2.95 billion.

The first film in this short-length trilogy will premiere at the NFT.NYC conference in June.

How do owners participate?

Coinbase posted this April 12 on its official twitter account, “definitely something”, adding that an interactive trilogy about the BAYC and ApeCoin community is in the works.

The tweet is directed at BAYC owners as it indicates how they can help the company make the movie: «Get a Coinbase Wallet, send in your Bored Ape, hide an easter egg.»

Also found in that tweet is a direct link to his website called (degentrilogy.com), which is essentially a home page with a title declaring “something is coming” and a link to connect your Coinbase Wallet.

Meanwhile, Yuga Labs also invited owners of Bored Apes to audition for roles in the trilogy, submitting their apes and backstory. If a user’s ape is chosen, he will receive a $10,000 license fee, paid in Bitcoin (BTC) or APE.

Once released, the movies will only be viewable by those who have connected their Coinbase Wallets to the platform.
