Junkbox platform maintains that this could be the first of many brands to join the project

Since the growth of the NFTs market during the last year, many well-known brands and companies have made their bid by launching a collection of NFTs or products related to this market.

Alcohol manufacturers have not been the exception to this rule, last year for example, the Scottish brand Glenfiddich had announced the sale of NFTs of 15 bottles of 1973 Whiskey, each one selling for a price close to $18,000.

However, some Asian countries have imposed stricter measures for the regulation of sales of NFTs, which is why it caused a special surprise when the Korean portal Chosun Biz announced yesterday the launch of the first NFT of a bottle of Whiskey in South Korea.

The announcement, which was shared on March 7, made public the launch of an NFT called ‘Goundal Master Blenders Edition NFT’ created in partnership with Omynara Brewery, a producer brand of Goundal, an Omija spirit.

This NFT will go on sale to the foreign market through Jukebox, a blockchain-based platform.

In the statements shared with this new portal Lee Dong-heon, CEO of Jukebox, said, «We plan to innovate not only traditional liquor, but also the entire liquor industry by issuing Goundal, the highest quality traditional liquor in Korea, through NFT and by combining traditional liquor with blockchain technology.»

According to the statements given by the CEO of Jukebox, this could be the opening for new opportunities for the liquor industry in South Korea. If this project is successful, we could soon see traditional Korean liquor brands being sold as NFTs to the foreign market.
