Elton John joins the NFT fashion for a good cause 

A new alliance between the British singer, NFT Sweet and Jadu gave life to a NFT collection against AIDS. 

Elton John, famous musician, entered the trend of digital assets by partnering with Jadu and Sweet to offer NFTs based on the famous song «Rocket Man». In addition, it also launched a series of special tokens that give owners the ability to unlock a multitude of exclusive fan experiences as part of the «Rocket NFT Club,» as announced on its website. 

The artist partnered with Jadu, an augmented reality platform and NFT Sweet to auction off the Rocket Man Jadu Hoverboard collection. The fundraising process is intended to support the Elton John Foundation working against AIDS. The Jadu Hoverboard auction began on June 20, at 9:00 and will close on Wednesday, June 22, at 17:00. 

«While I’m no expert in the metaverse, I wanted to make sure my first NFT was something true to me and collaborating with LGBTQ+ artist Voxel Bunny and Jadu on something so unique that benefits the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Pride month was the perfect opportunity.» – Elton John 

The digital artwork was designed by Voxel Bunny, who also designed Jadu’s jetpacks and hoverboards, the design references a pinball machine, paying homage to the 1975 «Pinball Wizard» video. It also includes the iconic glasses, the music icon’s piano keys and the actual musical notes from the world-famous song «Rocket Man.»

This NFT initiative was unveiled during LGBTQI+ Pride Month and seeks to support people with AIDS. Earlier this month, the launch of the Pride Icons collection was also announced. It consists of NFT of 100 artists and personalities from the queer community. The list includes figures such as Andy Warhol, Barbra Streisand, Cher and Marsha P. Johnson.
