The Sandbox prepares for the third season of Alpha with new updates

Players are expected to be able to have more benefits and interact with their NFT avatars.

Top-ranked virtual world game The Sandbox announced via Twitter on Saturday that it is now gearing up for its Alpha Season 3. Sandbox Alpha is a multi-week open Play-to-Earn event, where players will have the opportunity to explore The Sandbox Metaverse through numerous experiences.

Co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, Sebastien Borget, took to Twitter to drop hints about what Season 3 may entail and what new features may be added. Including a rallying cry for NFT avatar holders to get ready to bring their avatars to The Sandbox.

On the other hand, The Sandbox said Alpha Season 3 will offer more ways to interact with NFT, bring utility to the space and continue to build an open metaverse, and with many more exciting NFT avatar features yet to be fully revealed.

According to the portal «diariotiempo», unlike Season 2, players will not need an Alpha Pass to play Season 3 and it is open to everyone. Virtual world platform The Sandbox is widely considered a leader in blockchain and metaverse gaming, with partnerships with brands such as Snoop Dog, Atari and Adidas.

Recently, they announced a partnership with TIMEPieces, in a TIME NFT community initiative. The two companies will team up to build ‘TIME Square’, TIME’s first destination in the metaverse inspired by New York City.

The Sandbox and its seasons

Sandbox a virtual world built on the Ethereum blockchain, where players can build, own and monetize their gaming experiences. SAND has added 3% to its value in the last 24 hours and currently trades at $2.1192 per token.

Sandbox Alpha Season events will allow players to be the first to experience the game, social hubs and play to win in the Sandbox metaverse.

Alpha seasons will be multi-week events, where players will be able to earn $SAND rewards – and possibly NFTs (non-fungible tokens) – just for playing.

Each alpha season may have different access requirements. For example, there could be some sort of lock-in, through alpha season passes. However, to date there are no further details on the exact release date of Alpha season 3, it is advisable to keep an eye on The Sandbox’s social networks.
