Hasbro Teams with WoW to Launch Monopoly NFT Game

Global toy brand Hasbro is teaming up with illustrious NFT project World of Women (WoW) to create a one-of-a-kind Monopoly NFT game. Dubbed ‘World of Women Galaxy Monopoly,’ the game will be exclusively distributed as an NFT to all WoW and WoW Galaxy NFT holders.

The game and its corresponding NFTs will feature artworks which resemble the physical in-game currency notes of Monopoly, and will also be augmented with WoW-inspired artworks and characters. Later on, the WoW Monopoly NFTs will be redeemable for a limited-edition physical copy of the timeless board game. 

The physical game sets will be produced and distributed by WS Game Company, the only high-end toy manufacturer to have an authorized Hasbro license. In speaking on Monopoly’s first foray into the world of Web3, the company’s co-owner and Vice President of product development, Kerry Addis, had this to say:

“Joining forces with another female-led business on an initiative in a historically male-dominated industry is a great opportunity to ensure equal representation across multiple industries. The partnership not only marks the growth of NFTs in the consumer products space but opens up endless new digital-first possibilities for the board game industry as well”.

For now, a launch date for the project remains TBA, with WoW also stating that the artwork featured in its announcement is merely a teaser and not representative of the final product.
